ADI announced that it has placed an order for chip production capacity at TSMC’s Kumamoto plant

Analog Devices (ADI) recently announced that it has reached an agreement with TSMC, the world's leading dedicated semiconductor foundry, and TSMC's Kumamoto Prefecture-controlled manufacturing subsidiary Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (JASM) will provide chips for the long term.
ADI said that based on its more than 30-year cooperative relationship with TSMC, the agreement reached this time provides ADI with more options to expand the production capacity of advanced process nodes to further meet the key platform needs of ADI's business, including wireless BMS (wBMS) and GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) application. The joint efforts of both parties will further consolidate ADI's strong hybrid manufacturing network, which will help reduce the impact of external factors, rapidly expand production capacity and scale, and meet customer needs.

Vivek Jain, ADI's executive vice president of global operations and technology, said ADI's hybrid manufacturing network helps provide customers with a competitive advantage. Partnering with TSMC allows us to provide customers with a more resilient supply chain, respond more quickly to customer needs and changing market conditions, and focus on investing in innovative manufacturing solutions that benefit society and the planet.
Sajiv Dalal, executive vice president of North American business development at TSMC, said that TSMC is committed to assisting customers in meeting their long-term capacity needs. We are pleased to expand our ongoing cooperation with ADI to achieve a determined and dynamic semiconductor innovation journey through strong manufacturing capabilities.
