Samsung shareholders sincerely asked: Why does Samsung lag behind rival Apple?

According to Korean media THE ELEC, Samsung Electronics held the 51st shareholders' meeting yesterday (18). At the meeting, the company's shareholders kept asking why Samsung lags behind its biggest competitor, Apple.

A Samsung shareholder said she had to force her child to buy a Samsung smartphone, which was contrary to their original intention of buying an iPhone. She added that even after buying a Galaxy phone, her children were sticking with Apple's AirPod instead of Samsung's Buds.

In addition, the shareholder also asked what plans Samsung has to achieve this brand status.

In this regard, Gao Dongzhen, head of Samsung's IM department, said that although Samsung does have a lot to learn from competitors, he still pointed out that young users are very enthusiastic about the Galaxy series of mobile phones.

At the same time, another Samsung shareholder asked why Samsung insisted on using Exynos processors, which are known to have many flaws.

Gao Dongzhen explained that Samsung chose Exynos not because it was produced by Samsung and was purely based on performance considerations.

However, the report pointed out that Samsung ’s new Galaxy S20 phone this year is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is said to run many times faster than the Exynos version. In addition, according to previous news, Samsung this year decided not to sell the Galaxy S20 series phones equipped with Exynos processors in South Korea. The industry speculated that the reason may be that Samsung failed to narrow the price and performance gap between Exynos processors and Qualcomm processors.

Questions from Samsung shareholders did not seem to be sincerely answered by the company. Why it lags behind Apple, it is worth Samsung to explore.
