Qualcomm: I believe 5G can offset the impact of falling demand in the mobile phone market

According to Fortune, Qualcomm released sales forecasts that are consistent with analyst expectations, indicating that the move to 5G networks is helping to offset the impact of falling smartphone demand.

The San Diego-based company said in a statement on Wednesday that its second-quarter revenue will be between $4.4 billion and $5.2 billion. According to data from Bloomberg, analysts expect an average of $4.83 billion. Before Qualcomm released its earnings, chip makers Intel and Nvidia released more pessimistic forecasts.

Steve Mollenkopf, CEO of the company, said in a statement: "We will continue to implement our strategic goals, including promoting global transition to 5G, protecting the established value of our technology and inventions, and expanding into new industries and new product categories."
