Qualcomm CFO resigned on Tuesday and joined Intel on Wednesday

  According to Reuters, Qualcomm local time on Tuesday said that Qualcomm CFO George Davis has left the company on Tuesday, he will be the CFO of rival Intel.

It is understood that George Davis has been the financial director of Qualcomm's mobile chip supplier since 2013 and has served on the executive board of Qualcomm's board of directors.

After George Davis resigned, Qualcomm said it would appoint David Wise as the company's temporary CFO and will also look for George Davis's successor.

Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf said in a statement, “On behalf of the executive team, I thank George for his contributions to Qualcomm over the past six years. We all hope that he will achieve better results in his future work.”

Intel said that George Davis will be the company's CFO on Wednesday, and will report directly to CEO Bob Swan in the future.

Since Intel’s former CFO Bob Swan was promoted to Intel’s CEO in January this year, Intel’s CFO position has been vacant.

It is understood that George Davis has previously worked with Bob Swan. Prior to joining Qualcomm, George Davis served as CFO at Applied Materials, where Bob Swan served on the company's board of directors.
