On June 1, last year, Toshiba sold 100% of Toshiba Storage (TMC) to Pangea, a company acquired by Bain Capital's corporate alliance, for about 2.3 trillion yen. Toshiba re-invested Pangea and obtained 40.2% stake (equivalent to holding 40.2% stake in TMC). Japanese factory Hoya also obtained 9.9% equity, and the Japanese camp still owns a majority stake in Pangea.
