Last year, three-quarters of the world's DRAM came from South Korea

Last year, the memory semiconductor market ushered in an unprecedented glory. "Korea Semiconductor Alliance" achieved great success. Samsung ranked first with overwhelming advantage. SK Hynix DRAM market share exceeded 30%. It is predicted that Samsung and SK Hynix this year. The market share will grow further.

According to the "Yonhap News Agency" report, the data released by the market research company DRAMeXchange on the 4th pointed out that the global DRAM market sales reached 99.65 billion US dollars last year, a 39% increase over the previous year (71.7 billion US dollars), a record high. Record.

It is worth noting that SK hynix's market share in the fourth quarter of last year was 31.2%, which was a big gap with the third-ranked US Micron (23.5%). In contrast, Samsung Electronics' market share in the fourth quarter was 41.3%, but it was down from 46.0% in the previous year.

DRAMeXchange predicts that the overall market sales estimate for this year will be 17.5% lower than last year, reaching $82.247 billion, but the market share of the "Korea Semiconductor United Army" in the memory market will further increase, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The market share will grow to 44.9% and 29.6%.

On the other hand, last year's global NAND flash memory market sales of 63.21 billion US dollars, for the first time more than 60 billion US dollars, also set a new record. Samsung Electronics’ sales were US$22.19 billion, with a market share of 35.0%, which was ranked low, followed by Toshiba (19.2%), Western Digital (14.9%), Micron (12.9%), and SK Hynix (10.6). %)Wait. If Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are combined, the market share will be 45.6%, which is a decrease from the previous year's 47.2%.

According to industry insiders, half of the global NAND flash memory market last year was a “Korean brand”. Thanks to the advancement of equipment investment and research and development (R&D), it is expected that the technology gap will continue to be created in the short term. He also added that SK Hynix will continue to expand its investment after the completion of the Qingzhou M15, a dedicated NAND flash memory production line at the end of last year. After DRAM, the NAND flash memory sector may rise to the second place.
