Arm holds four mid-range IP latest trends conference in Japan

According to the MONOist website report, on December 6, Arm held a press conference in Tokyo to explain the latest trends of the four new IP products released in October.

In October this year, Arm introduced Ethos-N57 and Ethos-N37 for NPU, Mali-G57 for GPU and Mali-D37 for DPU.

Taking into account the previously developed Ethos-N77 for high-end equipment, Arm's NPU lineup has been expanded to three. Ethos-N77 has a maximum fixed-point computing capacity of 4TOPS at 1GHz and a maximum power efficiency of 5TOPS / W; Ethos-N57 and Ethos-N37, launched in October, have maximum fixed-point computing capabilities of 2TOPS and 1TOPS respectively at 1GHz. Ethos-N77 is used for flagship mobile phones, AR and VR devices, etc. Ethos-N57 is used for mid-range mobile phones and smart homes, etc. Ethos-N37 is mainly used for TVs and entry phones. Among them, Ethos-N37 can be installed in 1 square millimeter specifications, is the smallest inference processor. Ethos-N57 and Ethos-N37 are optimized for the support of Int8 and Int16 data types, and can process inferences such as CNN and RNN at high speed.

Mali-G57 uses the same Valhall architecture as Mali-G77. Compared with the previous generation Mali-G52, the machine learning processing performance on the same area of the chip is increased by 60% and the energy efficiency is increased by 30%.

The Mali-D37 uses the Komeda architecture and promises to output 2K and 1080P content in an area of 1 square millimeter at 16 nanometers.
